Questions and answers
Everything we are asked before an order, in the same words as the policies. If your question is not here, write to us.
Pre-orders
When does a pre-order ship?
Pre-orders leave when the batch arrives, in the window shown on the product page — at present late September / early October. The window is an estimate: we write to you if it moves.
When am I charged?
A pre-order is paid when it is placed and shipped when the batch arrives. The shipping window is an estimate: we will tell you if it moves. Payment is taken when you order.
Can I cancel a pre-order?
You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it ships, and we refund it in full. Cancel it from your order page, or write to us with your order number.
Ordering and payment
How is an order placed?
An order is placed when you pay. Payment is taken at that moment, including for a pre-order.
What can I pay with?
Payment is handled by PayPal. We never see your card details.
Do prices include tax?
Prices are shown in euros and include tax where it applies. Shipping is added at checkout and shown before you pay.
Do I need an account?
No. Your order lives on a link we send you, and that link is how you check on it. You can open an account if you would rather keep your addresses and see all your orders in one place — orders you placed as a guest are added to it the first time you sign in with the same address.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
The countries we serve are listed in the shipping estimate on the cart page. If yours is not there, we cannot ship to you yet.
What does it cost?
Shipping depends on the destination and the size of the order, and is shown before you pay.
When do orders leave?
Orders from stock leave within a few working days. Pre-orders leave when the batch arrives, in the window shown on the product page.
Can I follow the parcel?
Once it ships, the carrier and the tracking number appear on your order page.
Returns and refunds
Can I change my mind?
If you live in the European Union you may cancel within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason. Ask for the return from your order page and send the paper back unused. We refund what you paid for the goods once the parcel reaches us.
What if something arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged or is not what you ordered, write to us with your order number and a photograph, and we will put it right.
How are refunds made?
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through PayPal.
How do I cancel or return an order?
From your order page: the link is in your confirmation email. Before the order ships you can cancel it there and be refunded; afterwards, you can request a return and we will tell you where to send the parcel. Lost the link? We can send it again.
Printing and compatibility
Which printers does it work with?
The compatibility table on the product page lists printers as tested, reported by customers, or not tested yet. Nothing appears there until somebody has actually reported it.
How do I test it first?
There is no sample on sale at the moment. The characteristics on the product page are the closest thing we can give you before you order.
What exactly is the paper?
The technical characteristics are listed on the product page, exactly as we recorded them.
Black Core and proxies
What is Black Core cardstock?
Two printable faces with an opaque black layer between them. That layer stops light passing through the card, which is why a card printed on both sides does not show its back through its front.
Why does the core matter more than the weight?
Weight decides how a card feels in the hand. The core decides whether the other side can be read through it. A heavy sheet without a core is still see-through.
What do people print on it?
Proxies and playtest cards for trading card games, custom and altered cards, prototypes and print-and-play components. Those games are their owners' trademarks and we are not affiliated with any of them: we sell blank paper.
